Fancy: A Country Jukebox Musical
Presented at Meadow Brook Theatre, located in Rochester, Michigan. Performed September 8th thru October 3rd, 2021.

A world premiere jukebox musical personifying the woman from the Reba McEntire song "Fancy". Spinning Fancy's tale of woe, from being kicked out of the house at the young age of 18, to working in a factory, to falling in love, and finally becoming a famous country star, this well written story, relatable characters, and famous songs will grip you from the very beginning. Featuring songs like "Before He Cheats", "Rose Garden", and "Take This Job and Shove It", it's sure to be a crowd pleaser.

Being a Costume Intern, I did a little bit of everything. I worked in the shop, altering and tailoring costumes for the actors as need be. I also made Fancy's "Suspicious Minds" dress from scratch (first picture on the right). Using a printed floral chiffon with a pink lining, this fitted dress with a beautiful flare skirt was a challenge, but absolutely worth it in the end. I also worked did light focus and hang, as well as worked backstage, steaming costumes, prepping and presetting them for the show, tracking costumes during the performance, helping with quick changes, including ones for our title character, doing laundry, and maintaining almost 20 wigs.
